Final Critique Review

Updated: Oct 26, 2022

Hey there!

It's been a week since the last update and whew! Sooo much has happened in my art sphere. The main thing being the final critique of my work from this semester in my thesis class.

My professor charged me with presenting more than one work (since I only showed one work last time and I have a million pieces), so I exhibited 10. Which in hindsight may have been too many because the crit is sadly only 15 minutes. Anyway, here is a small series of works for you:

Calm Cool & Collected

Seeing Red

Free

This series is my interpretation of human metamorphosis. CCC is the focus and intake required to make the changes, Seeing Red is breaking through the barriers and destroying the blockages, Free is the product of the hard work and planning, all together the work is called Metamorphosis. I used the complimentary colors in each to bring to the audience a sense of tension among harmony within each step of the process and highlight the focal points with the next color in the cycle. The eye has hints of red, yellow outlines the hands, and the textured pale blue is seen in spots of Free. I did this to emphasize the recurring breakthroughs a person faces throughout their life.

Thank you for reading, I LOVE being able to share my art with you!

More next week

Love,

ALTA
