Dear reader,
Hey, it's been a while!!! I am in my senior year of school and it's definitely a balancing act. I'll catch you up really quick though. I finished the commission this week finally and will be delivering it in the next few days. I have been working like a madman in the studio as my senior thesis final critique for the semester is next week. Last time, I showed a large work that was really experimental and challenging for me as far as style and techniques. However, I've since realized that I don't need to take the path of most difficulty. In fact, the difficult path and the path that comes naturally to me can work together. It's like a fresh breath of air and weight off of my shoulders honestly.
After taking SOO many art classes since I was young, it's finally hitting me that I don't always have to push so hard. Of course, I want to anyway, but I am learning to better appreciate where my work is now and learning how to highlight my strengths rather than spend so much energy on my weaknesses. Sometimes going with the flow is the right thing to do, sometimes pushing to break through is the right thing to do. Balance.
Anyway, I am super psyched about my upcoming projects! I would post them, but I want it to be a surprise to the class. Funny enough, we've been talking about alter ego's a lot recently which is part of the reason I decided to fire up the old typewriter. It's gotten my gears going, I think I will develop Alta Koer a lot more ad soon. You all will be the first to see everything since you are subscribed, thank you again!
